The vehicle is basically a stripped-out racer based on the 650S Coupé. The track-focused 650S Sprint is fitted with the Brake Steer system and has more refined active aerodynamics,featuring a race set-up for the ProActive Chassis Control (PCC).
The aerodynamic design of the 650S Sprint offers increased levels of downforce, and the revised air intakes - carried across from the road car - allow for optimised cooling of the 3.8-litre twin-turbo M838T engine which, along with the transmission, has been calibrated to enhance on-track drivability.
The cabin is stripped out to minimise weight, while the carbon-fibre MonoCell chassis remains with an FIA-approved rollcage. There’s also a lightweight carbon-fibre racing seat, with full six-point harness.
The 650S Sprint has a lower ride height with recalibrated adaptive damping for revised spring rates;it sits on 19-inch racing wheels, fitted with Pirelli slick or wet tyres, while an on-board air-jacking system enables quick tyre changes. Stopping power is also enhanced, provided by a race-prepared braking system developed for the 650S Sprint.
The 650S Sprint will be available from all official McLaren retailers worldwide or direct from McLaren GT.
