Ultimate McLaren teased

McCLAREN is expected to unveil its ultimate interpretation of the P1, with a track-based GTR concept model, at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concoursd’Elegance in California.

Believe it or not, this comes as a result of requests from buyers of the road-going P1, for a more track-focused version. We don’t really think the 673kW hybrid hypercar needed to be more extreme, but included with the added visual drama, it’s expected that these models will come with a fully comprehensive programme to include driving events, training and vehicle support.

The P1 GTR will go into production in June 2015 when the 375th and final example of the road car has been completed, which also coincides with the twenty-year anniversary of the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans win by the McLaren F1 GTR.

The McLaren P1 GTR design concept will be unveiled during an exclusive preview at the McLaren Brand Centre on the 18th Fairway at the Pebble Beach Lodge at 6pm on Friday, 15th August (2am Saturday, 16th August), and will make its public début on the Pebble Beach Concept Lawn, over the course of the weekend.
