Volvo ready to shape the future

VOLVO recently released the first images of a new concept meant to demonstrate what the brand is capable of under the leadership of its new senior vice-president of design, Thomas Ingenlath.

The Volvo Concept Coupé reveals how the Swedish brand could shape its cars in the future. Let’s hope they do, because this concept has to be one of the most beautiful things we’ve ever seen.

It’s quite a departure from Volvo’s traditional designs. The Concept Coupé is a muscular thing, but look carefully and you’ll be able to spot a few of the design elements from the 1960s P1800. Could Volvo be hinting at the possibility of a coupé in its line-up in the future?

The concept car features a 2.0-litre high-performance Drive-E petrol engine with a supercharger and turbo. The petrol is teamed with an electric motor on the rear axle. This gives Volvo Concept Coupé a total output of around 298kW and over 600Nm of torque, so the go will definitely match the show.

So c’mon Volvo, just build it and send it here, please.
