Foton beefs-up Tunland

We remember driving the Foton Tunland a few years back, we were impressed by its rather torquey Cummins diesel motor and respectable ride and rive quality. Now though, there is a special edition of the Tunland called the Granite.

The Imperial Holdings-backed company decided to take a 4x2 Tunland Luxury double cab and fit it with black accessories that change the exterior appearance. More specifically, the changes include black alloy wheels fitted with 16-inch Cooper all-terrain tyres, a black roll-over bar and black nudge bar, as well as some special exterior black finishes. This model also comes with side steps and a tonneau cover for the load box.

Inside one will find Granite stitched into the covers of the front head restraints. The Granite nomenclature also appears on the bottom of the front doors and on the tailgate. As with the regular model, there are leather seats and an infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

The model is still powered by the Cummins ISF engine which produces 120kW/360Nm and will achieve a claimed combined cycle figure of 8.3 litres/100km. The powertrain also allows for a towing capacity of 2.5 tonnes.

This model gets a 5-year/150 000km warranty as well as a 2-year/40 000km service plan included in the retail price. Service intervals are set at 10 000km which allows the car to run on 500ppm diesel.

Price: R329 995
