Hyundai i20 now more automatic

18.01.2017

Launched just over two years ago now, Hyundai South Africa has bolstered its i20 range with the addition of an automatic gearbox for the mid-range Motion model.

Supplementing the existing auto box option on the higher spec Fluid, the Motion retains the same 1.4-litre Kappa engine with 74 kW and 133 N.m of torque, with the four-speed box translating to a claimed combined fuel consumption figure 7.5 L/100 km and emissions of 160 g/km.

Mechanical changes to the rest of the range are unchanged with the base 1.2 still producing 61 kW and 115 N.m of torque, while a six-speed manual is standard on all 1.4-litre models.

Spec-wise, the Motion auto boasts height-adjustable driver's chair, Bluetooth, telescopic steering column, CD-player with USB and Aux input, electric windows with one-touch up/down function for the driver, electrically foldable mirrors, rear parking sensors, dual front airbags, follow-me home headlights and ABS with EBD.

Hyundai's industry first seven year / 200 000 km warranty is standard on all models, with the 1.2 offering a two year / 30 000 km service plan and the 1.4 a three year / 60 000 km plan.
