Peugeot adds oil burner to 3008 line-up

Until now only available with a turbocharged petrol engine, Peugeot has expanded its award winning 3008 range to include a turbodiesel engine, mated solely to a six-speed manual gearbox.

Displacing 2.0-litres and available in base Active and mid-spec Allure trim levels, the oil burner produces 110 kW and 370 Nm of torque, with a claimed fuel consumption of 5.0 L/100 km and rated emissions of 136 g/km. As with the 1.6 THP petrol, drive is again routed to the front wheels.

Pricing for the 3008 2.0 HDI starts at R474 900 for the Active, R60 000 more than equivalent petrol automatic, while the Allure retails for R520 900, a jump of R61 000.
