Renault puts Xtreme value-for-money spin on popular Kwid

A smash-hit success since debuting last year despite criticism over its lack of safety equipment, Renault has introduced a new limited edition top spec version of the budget focused Kwid, known as the Xtreme.

Based on the regular Dynamique model, the Xtreme mainly receives a number of cosmetic upgrades, made up of 14-inch alloy wheels, chrome grille insert and detailing around the foglights, at the base of the bumper and on the bootlid, black roof rails and special red and silver decals on the base of the doors.

The interior and list of standard equipment are however unchanged from the Dynamique, with the same applying to the 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine which continues to produce 50 kW and 91 Nm of torque, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

A five year / 150 000 km warranty is included in the Kwid Xtreme's R149 900 sticker price.
