Available in Comfortline spec with the ever popular R-Line package being a cost option, the TDI uses the Volkswagen's Group stalwart 2.0-litre mill developing 81 kW and 250 Nm of torque, linked to a six-speed DSG gearbox. Displacing the 1.4 TSI as the new top spec non-sporting Golf model, the TDI is claimed to reach 100 km/h from standstill in 10.5 seconds and top out at 190 km/h. Fuel consumption is rated at 5.0 L/100 km and emissions at 132 g/km.
