Toyota introduces the new VX trim

THE Toyota Rav4 created a niche for itself when it was launched way back in the early 1990s, revolutionising what people thought they wanted or needed from a car.

Launched last year, the all-new and highly anticipated Rav4 has continued to be a success story; with its new, more forceful and sharper Toyota styling, it’s slowly reclaiming the segment it created.

To help achieve this, Toyota launched the higher spec VX trim, boasting the efficient 2.2-litre D-4D diesel engine.

The newly introduced flagship VX trim provides you with a host of additional equipment including chrome inserts in the front bumper for that prestigious appeal, a moon roof, power retractable side mirrors and High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps, along with the bigger 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin you’re greeted by full leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control and a reverse camera along with rear Park Distance Control (PDC), which assists in parking this rather large SUV in the ever-shrinking modern day parking spots.

The powered tailgate can also be opened and closed at the press of a button, which makes opening the boot a breeze, when your hands are full of grocery packets.

In terms of everyday functionality and practicality, the Rav4 in VX trim doesn’t disappoint. The engine is smooth and capable and the host of standard features like cruise control and keyless smart entry complement the vehicle’s usability, which will suit all lifestyles.

Boasting a five-star EuroNCAP safety rating, the new Rav4 offers everything we’ve come to expect from Toyota and a little more to make it an alluring choice.
