Ford 2015 model (2015)

I bought a new car out of the box, paid cash for the vehicle. This vehicle was bought as a cash deal. I am very unhappy with this vehicle because on driving within in the complex it makes an extremely unpleasant noise coming from the engine side. I have been back to **** dealership in which they asked me to record the noise. This noise does not appear to happen every day but now is becoming more frequent. I bought this car in July and the very next day I had the problem. A mechanic came out to look at the car and tried to ascertain where the noise came from without any luck. I have been in contact with the dealer princilpal who appeared to be unaware of what was happening and is now asking me to keep a record of time, mileage and where this unsatisfactory noise came from. **** dealership had the car for 5 weeks and they said there was nothing wrong with the car . They had taken the car out without the noise happening. The sales consultant appears to be uninterested and has not given us any help which I think is disgusting. ****Dealership name removed

Ford Focus 2.0 TDCi SI 6-Speed Manual (2005)

This car was by far the best all-rounder I've ever had. Its light on fuel. avg 7.5L/100Km. Driving down to the coast gives you around 6.5L/100Km and that does not mean that you can't have some fun along the way either. Max consumption was around 9.5L/100km but you'd have to be late for a meeting or child birth every day of the week to average that an entire 45L tank. This car drives well, really well. It may not be the fastest or have the sportiest suspension out there, but it has just the right balance to be comfortable, quiet and make you poop yourself. Very stiff and well designed chassis. Power comes from a 2L intercooled, commonrail, direct injection engine with a variable vane turbo. 100kw, 320Nm Torque 340Nm(when overboosting). 0-100Km 9.3s Top Speed 210Km/h. (So they say) This is the same engine found on the Citroen Picasso. Citroen C4. Volvo s40 2D. I cant say too much about the gearbox really. Its good I guess. It did everything I expected it to do, but did not stand out as something special. It has ample space too. You can fit 4 beer drinkers in the back and at least 2 more in the boot. Really good, comfortable family car and lots of fun to drive when the family is not in the car. Servicing cost is middle of the pack I think. Other Ford parts are expensive though, because you can only get them from the agents AFAIK. Shame on you Ford! In terms of reliability, I never had any unreasonable problems with this car. To be honest most of my problems were caused by poor service or negligence from the Ford agents.(In my experience) Durable interior. Only when I looked at other cars of this age I realised how well this car ages. Leather looks as good as it was on day one. Perferated too, so that you dont sweat like a dog. Bottom line. Loved this car.

Ford Figo (2011)

Since I haven't seen many reviews for Figos, I'll give quite a lot of info (all from my perspective of course), so apologies if it's a bit long. In general this is a nice little car - nippy, good fuel consumption & pretty comfortable. It also looks attractive. I'm a 30-year-old female & it suits me well (though I wouldn't recommend it for someone very tall or large-build - I'm 5'8). I suppose I should mention that my previous car was a Ford Fiesta 1.4 petrol 1998 model, which I loved. My friend, who is male, also had a 1998 Fiesta, & is now driving the Figo & loving it - he commutes daily. It has all the important basics - aircon, central locking (not remote - but this can apparently be upgraded at a Ford dealer - for a fee, of course), power steering, good petrol consumption, ABS brakes, airbags; plus some nice small things like mirrors on each sun visor, some nice little hollows on the dashboard for small things like coins, etc, cubbyhole with enough space for the service book, & a few other bits & bobs. The car is a good entry-level basic car for someone who doesn't need a lot of fancy stuff but needs a good, reliable, efficient, nippy mode of transport that still looks nice & has the necessary small things inside it (like cup holders, etc.) It pulls away well, unless on a steep hill & with aircon going, then it's a bit slower-going (pretty standard for a 1.4) It's apparently basically the Fiesta 4th generation, and I think that if you liked the older Fiestas you will probably like the Figo.
