Hyundai i10

Motoring Review

THE ever-so-popular i10 range has been expanded to five derivatives with the addition of the 1.1 Motion with a four-speed automatic gearbox, aimed specifically at the urban commuter.

The i10 Motion automatic shares features found in the 1.1 Motion manual sibling, including Bluetooth connectivity, MP3 and CD, air-conditioner with anti-bacterial pollen filter, fog lights in front, electrically adjustable and heated side mirrors, electric windows all around and windscreen wipers.

It also has a steering wheel that can tilt up or down with remote controls on the steering wheel and an adjustable driver’s seat height. Interior space can increase from 225 litres to 910 litres when the seats are folded down.

On the exterior, the i10 Motion automatic runs on 165/60 R14 tyres fitted to 14-inch steel rims with attractive and durable hubcaps and is equipped with a full-size spare wheel under the rear cargo floor cover.

Armed with the same 1 086cc four-cylinder engine as its manual sibling, the 1 .1 Motion feeds the power to the front wheels through a four-speed automatic gearbox with well-spread ratios to make it easy to manoeuvre in the city.  It has a fuel consumption of 5.7litres/100km.

The Hyundai i10 Motion automatic comes with Hyundai’s Automotive SA standard five-year/150 000km warranty, as well as a five-year/150 000km roadside assistance.
