The annual motorcycle Toyrun has seen a change in venue this year with the highly successful charity event to end at the brand new WesBank Raceway on Sunday 30 November. -

- Wesbank Raceway CEO Peter Lindenberg has welcomed the decision. “Aside of being the largest run on the SA bikers calendar, which will be logistically challenging, we are proud to be associated with such a worthy and charitable cause”, he said. -

- Start venues are once again the East Rand Galleria from the east, Randburg waterfront (soon to be known as The Brightwater Commons) from the west, Church Square Pretoria from the north and Steeldale Hyper from the south. -

- “This year’s Toyrun will again receive the generous support of Namibian Breweries and ABI. The musical entertainment will be supplied by the ever-popular Georgia and the trade show should be bigger and better than ever before”, said Pete Beart, the chairman of the Toyrun Company. -

- “We expect a convoy of about 90kms of bikers and although the numbers are not quite finalised you can do the maths yourself and realise that there are going to be a load of people,” added Beart. -

- The bikers will be arriving from 9:30 on the morning of the run and activities should continue until around 4 pm, they will be doing their own marshalling and organisation of the parking of the bikes. -

- “WesBank Raceway will also be hosting 30 children from the Epworth Children’s Home in Germiston and Kids Haven in Benoni, they will be treated to lunch and Father Christmas will be arriving with their gifts in the Capital Air Helicopter. Any members of the public who would like to give the children presents is invited to give them directly to the children’s care givers who will be accompanying them. -

- The facilities at WesBank Raceway will all be open on the day with amongst others the House of Bonne Cuisine, WesBank Raceways official caterers, prepared to feed the thousands of hungry mouths the event is expected to attract. They will also be hosting a VIP function in the Peter Gough room on the day. The tickets are being sold in the form of tables and includes entry to the venue, a three course meal, an open bar, a contribution to the Toyrun, memorabilia, a guest speaker as well as a raffle for a suicide ride on the day. -

- To add to the spectacle the main SASCAR oval has been made available for all bikers and anybody who rides a bike in on the day will be allowed to park on the oval free of charge. -

- Attractions on the day will include the Budding “Miss Toy Run’s”, who will again be asked to strut their stuff. A Concourse competition will be run but again only for bikes that actually rode on the run, the many tenants at the raceway will also be open on the day with a variety of products on display including leather products and jewellery makers and for the more adventurous Chopper Flips will get the pulse racing. -

- The skid pan will be open at a normal nominal cost while a DJ will get the crowds hyped up and all the Raceway’s VIP facilities will be open as well while in the late afternoon the regular Illegal 2 Legal dragsters will be burning rubber on the drag strip, the bikers are invited to take part in the racing at an entry fee of just R20, and it promises to be a bumper day out not just for the bikers but the whole family. -

- The Toyrun is all about bringing a smile to the face of children who are less privileged than most; this is achieved by using toys as admission with no exceptions being made. The toys can be handed in at WesBank Raceway or at one of the start venues where a sticker will be issued. -
