Newer, better looking Range Rover Evoque
THINGS, these days, happen so fast! We, as consumers, constantly demand new and better things. Cell phones are updated within months of a new model coming out and cars are no different. After a number of updates to the ever popular Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover has released details of an updated version.
Seeing as though Land Rover has given the Evoque some new, comprehensive design features and technologies, we could conclude that it is a face-lifted model. The new model makes use of cutting-edge exterior design features, which have been further enhanced with a selection ofcarefully chosen revisions. These updates include a new front bumper, two new grille designs, all-LED headlamps and three new alloy wheel designs. These changes will enhance the Evoque's unique design to a broad range of customers.
Interior changes include new seats and door casings, as well as a new infotainment system, accessed via an eight-inch touchscreen, and the introduction of new colours and materials such as lunar ice, vintage tan and dark cherry - for the Autobiography model only, all of which, complementing the Evoque's bold architectural forms.
As far as the engines go, the company has made use of its new aluminium Ingenium diesel engine, which brings class-leading efficiency to the 2016 Range Rover Evoque, making it the most efficient production Land Rover – ever! The new engines are manufactured at the company's advanced new £500-million Engine Manufacturing Centre in the West Midlands, UK.
The all-aluminium Ingenium TD4 engine is 20-30kg lighter than its predecessor and features technologies such as stiff cylinder blocks and decoupled injectors, ensuring low levels of vibration and noise intrusion. A range of advanced features have been applied to the Ingenium engines to ensure outstanding environmental performance, including variable valve timing and a series of low friction technologies. Selective catalytic reduction and a new low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation system significantly reduce NOx emissions.
The 2016 Evoque's trim levels have been realigned to match those of the Range Rover Sport, so customers have the choice of three highly-desirable models: SE, HSE Dynamic and Autobiography.
We think the updated Evoque looks great. Its new design has brought it more in line with that of current Land Rover products.
