Hennie Bekker will replace Terry Gregory as general manager of Ssangyong Motor Distributors South Africa at the end of February.

Gregory has announced that he will be leaving the manufacturer to pursue other business interests.

Bekker, the current dealer principal at SsangYong Bryanston, has about 30 years’ experience in the motor industry. He was the dealer principal for six years.

Bekker is also responsible for initiating the SsangYong Owners Club.

Bekker told CARtoday.com he hoped to bring more products to South Africa. “We launched the Rexton at Auto Africa last year and had a good response to it,” he said.

“We sold 27 units and are waiting for more stock, but I expect to sell about 30 units a month. It’s a very capable vehicle and the price is good,” Bekker said.

Bekker said he would travel to Korea in March to look at other products, and would be launching the double cab Musso by September.
