Jenson Button criticised his BAR team-mate Jacques Villeneuve after the pair pitted on the same lap during the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday.

The young Brit was forced to queue behind his team-mate in the pits and lost time. Button finished the race in 10th spot behind Villeneuve.

"It is very frustrating. My team-mate came in on the wrong lap and I ended up queuing behind him which was embarrassing for the whole team,” Button said.

"It is very disappointing. He was supposed to come in the lap before me but for some reason he came in on my lap instead.

“The car worked very well in the practice sessions and qualifying so it was very disappointing to finish where we did today because we were very quick in the race.”

Villeneuve said it was not his fault. "I had radio problems so it was very difficult to communicate with the pit wall and both cars ended up pitting at the same time.

"Our strategy would have been good without the safety cars, but things definitely didn’t work out for us today."
