After three months of enforced holiday, Valentino Rossi has confirmed that he will make his first appearance for Yamaha when the team starts its testing session at Sepang on Saturday.

Since the end of the 2003-season in November last year, the Italian MotoGP world champ was barred by former team Honda from testing for the Yamaha team until his contract expired at the end of the year.

The addition of Rossi to the Yamaha team has been widely celebrated since Yamaha won its last manufacturing title in 1992 under the guidance of Wayne Rainey.

However, archrival Max Biaggi (now racing for Honda on Rossi's ex-bike) has set a blistering pace while testing at Sepang this week.

This is ahead of the season-opener to be held at the Phakisa Freeway circuit from 16 to 18 April.

Ticket prices and Grand Prix information will be available at www.racemakers.com. Tickets go on sale on the website and at Computicket from 2 February.
