The upgrades include aerodynamic enhancements, new alloy wheels (measuring up to 20 inches in diameter) and, of course, extra power.
Indeed, the Brabus PowerXtra B 25 S performance upgrade increases the peak outputs of the A250’s turbocharged 2,0-litre four-cylinder petrol model from the stock 165 kW and 350 N.m to some 199 kW and 430 N.m (for the record, the Mercedes-AMG A35 makes 225 kW and 400 N.m). This is enough, says Brabus, for a zero to 100 km/h sprint of 5,9 seconds (down three-tenths on the standard model).
The power upgrade includes the fitment of larger ducting to the air filter as well as tuning of the engine control unit (with reprogrammed mapping for injection and ignition as well as retuned boost pressure). Top speed remains an electronically limited 250 km/h.
The firm also offers a new stainless steel sport exhaust system with actively controlled exhaust flaps (if you opt for a Brabus faux rear diffuser, the system culminates in four stainless/carbon exhaust tips). Interestingly, Brabus says power kits for turbodiesel A-Class derivatives are “in the development phase”.
The A250's body kit comprises a two-piece front spoiler, a rear spoiler (ensuring an “optimal aerodynamic balance”) and the aforementioned “diffuser-look” insert for the rear facia. Inside, the Bottrop-based tuner says it offers various options, including “fine leather” trim and Alcantara, stainless-steel scuff plates, alloy pedals and velour floor mats.
