The annual BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands study, which is released by market researcher Kantar Millward Brown, shows Toyota has retained the title of the world’s most valuable car brand (for the seventh successive year) in 2019.
In the fourteenth year of the study, the Japanese automaker was ranked 41st overall, down five places on its 2018 position (with its brand value decreasing three percent). For the record, Amazon, Apple and Google claimed the overall podium places.
Mercedes-Benz remained in second place on the automotive list, with BMW again close behind in third. Interestingly, Honda moved up one spot to fourth in 2019, forcing Ford down to fifth.
Nissan stayed in sixth, while Tesla moved up one place to seventh, pushing Audi down to eighth. Volkswagen – the only brand in the automotive top 10 to improve its brand value in 2019, by some 12 percent – climbed one place to ninth, while Porsche entered the table to snaffle tenth (pushing Maruti Suzuki off the list).
