The CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles South Africa says the group’s brands are “here to stay”.
Graham Eagle made the comments as FCA launched its exhibition space at the 2019 Festival of Motoring at Kyalami.
The Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Abarth and Jeep brands are displaying their wares at the show in Johannesburg.
“The Festival of Motoring has become a major stage for the South African motor industry to interact with consumers,” said Eagle, who took over the role of CEO of FCA South Africa at the end of July 2018.
“At a time when consumers expect brands to create authentic experiences, and products to serve continuously adapting demands, it is important for us to make our model range available for the South African public. And what more engaging brands and products do you get than those with passion, heritage, pedigree and excitement pulsing through their veins,” he said.
“We know we have great products. We’re proud to show them off at the Festival of Motoring and we are working hard to ensure our customer experience is the best it can possibly be.
Eagle conceded FCA had room to improve, but said the company was working hard to satisfy its customers.
“We know we have improvements to make, but we are committed to making them. New dealer facilities, management efficiencies, and a host of behind-the-scenes work all show our commitment to South Africa, our dealers and our customers. We are here to stay,” Eagle said, echoing comments made back in February.
