Porsche has revealed its new flagship Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, which arrives as the most powerful variant in the refreshed Panamera line-up with 514 kW.
Slotting in above the 463 kW Turbo S, the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid combines a 420 kW twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8 with a 100 kW electric motor (the latter integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission) for total system outputs of 514 kW and 870 N.m.
The hybrid model’s all-electric range has furthermore been increased by some 30 percent to a claimed 50 km thanks to the fitment of a new 17,9 kWh battery (up from the previous 14,1 kWh version) and “optimised” driving modes (an update that also applies to the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid).
The latest Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid completes the sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in a claimed 3,2 seconds, or some two-tenths faster than its predecessor. It tops out at a heady 315 km/h, an improvement of 5 km/h.
As with other models in the facelifted Panamera range, the Turbo S E-Hybrid is offered in saloon, long-wheelbase (Executive) and Sport Turismo body styles. Regardless of the chosen configuration, the front end of the Turbo S E-Hybrid is differentiated from that of its siblings by dual C-shaped light modules as well as larger side air intakes. The revised light bar at the rear, meanwhile, runs over the luggage compartment lid with an adapted contour.
Inside, the Porsche Communication Management system features a higher display resolution and includes additional digital functions and services. The flagship Turbo S E-Hybrid furthermore ships standard with all “currently available” chassis and control systems, including the electric roll stabilisation system, rear axle steering, and ceramic composite brakes.
