Mahindra South Africa has launched a refreshed version of its TUV300, again with just a single T8 variant on offer.
Pleasingly, however, the price has remained unchanged at R254 999.
The Indian firm’s local arm says styling updates to the front include a revised grille, fresh headlamps and a new lower bumper with squared-off foglamps. The headlamps are now framed by “carbon-black” trim, linking them to the black-and-chrome grille.
In profile, the TUV300 1,5CRDe T8 gains black side cladding, while the rear-mounted spare wheel cover has been overhauled. Fresh taillamps and a new rear spoiler have also been added. Inside, you’ll find new silver detailing around the air vents and main controls.
Mahindra lists the ladder-frame TUV300 as a seven-seater but note the vehicle we tested in mid-2017 did without seatbelts for the two rearmost pews.
Under the bonnet, nothing’s changed, with the 1,5-litre mHawk turbodiesel engine still delivering 74 kW and 240 N.m to the driven wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.
A three-year/100 000 km warranty and a five-year/90 000 km service plan (with 20 000 km intervals after the initial 10 000 km lubrication service) are included.
