If you’re a Volkswagen Golf fan, you’ll probably have heard of the Country-badged off-roading variant offered in Europe from 1990. And now a digital artist has come up with an eighth-generation version.
As a reminder, the original Country was based on the second-generation Golf and built in Austria. Fewer than 8 000 units were produced.
Chuyko's imagined modern version features the requisite suspension hike, some black body cladding, a set of roof racks and large alloys wrapped in suitably chunky tyres. Up front, you’ll also notice the skid plate, complete with an integrated winch.
The original four-wheel-drive Golf Country furthermore boasted bull bars fore and aft, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, items the rendered modern-day version does without.
