Toyota in the United States has taken the wraps off a modified version of its new Corolla hatchback, with the “track-inspired” model set to be on display at the 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.
The Japanese automaker asked the folks over at Super Street magazine to customise a new Corolla hatchback … and this is the result, complete with a custom aero kit.
“Corolla hatchback is at the forefront of Toyota’s current interaction with automotive enthusiasts,” said Ed Laukes, group vice president at Toyota’s marketing division in the US.
“The all-new hatchback is well suited to customisation and personalisation, be it for appearance or performance.”
Interestingly, the automaker says the build was “tailored toward track use”, with the hatch gaining a RS-R coilover suspension and Falken FK510 high-performance tyres wrapped round lightweight Volk wheels.
Engine modifications include an HPS intake and A’PEXi quad-outlet exhaust with titanium tips, while uprated brakes come courtesy of Wilwood. Inside, you’ll find a pair of Corbeau bucket seats.
