One, of course, is an all-wheel-drive hyper hatch while the other is a rear-driven sportscar. Still, it’s interesting to see how these two very different vehicles compare in terms of straight-line speed.
As a reminder, the A45 S employs a turbocharged 2,0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine offering 310 kW and 500 N.m to all four wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. That’s enough, says the Affalterbach-based performance division, for a sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in 3,9 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h.
And the base 992-generation 911? Well, this model makes use of a twin-turbocharged 3,0-litre flat-six engine offering 283 kW and 450 N.m to the rear axle via an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h takes a claimed 4,2 seconds (or 4,0 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package specified, as is the case with the example in the video), while top speed is 293 km/h.
